Footsteps to Tokyo Challenge

Whitchurch(Shropshire) Hockey club wish Kinvara Hockey all the best on Friday 26th March with their “Footsteps to Tokyo Challenge” as their members (predominantly youth players) embark on a fundraising challenge to virtually walk/run the distance from their club in County Galway on the west coast of Ireland to Tokyo.

The virtual route to Tokyo is designed to connect with as many of the countries the Irish national Women’s Hockey team will face at the upcoming Olympic Games.  We are delighted to encourage and promote the effort of their young players during their enormous challenge, but also promote the sport of hockey and in particular women in sport in advance of the Olympic Games.

Pro League Hockey Rewards

Hi All. We have received the below from England Hockey for anyone interested in attending the Pro League in 2020.

Dear Club,

We just wanted to give you some exciting news about GB Hockey’s new scheme to turn your support for our national teams into extra value for your club –Hockey Rewards.

In 2019 clubs & their members supported the Great Britain teams at home in the inaugural FIH Pro League season.  So for 2020 we’ve created Hockey Rewards which lets you convert the FIH Pro League tickets that club members buy into points, and points into rewards for your club.

The ability to turn tickets into Rewards couldn’t be simpler as all your members have to do is tag your club when they buy.  But don’t forget, if they buy before the Hockey Family Window ends on 4th February we will ensure all your members are sat together.  The easiest social to organise ever!

Please re-share the Priority link with your membershttps://hockey.seetickets.com/tour/the-fih-pro-league

Full details of how the scheme works and the rewards available are on the attached and here :www.greatbritainhockey.co.uk/rewards

England Hockey Awards 2019

Despite not coming home with the prize for ‘Ladies team of the Year’ it was an absolutely fabulous night and we would like to thank England Hockey for all their efforts.

It was brilliant to be in a room surrounded by so many inspirational people who love the sport from grass roots level up to the international players who joined in the fun and really helped make everyone feel part of the hockey family.

A big thank you to Ian Sloan, England and GB player who sat on our table for the evening and made us feel very welcome, it was extremely interesting to get the views of a player playing at the highest level of the game.

I think everyone who went would like to go back again next year whether or not we get nominated and we hope next time to take many more along to this fantastic event.

Below are a few of the pictures from the evening with lots of international players.
